    Children's AI Summit

Hosted the world’s first ever Children’s AI Summit which brought together over 150 young people from across the UK. From young people’s submissions, the Children’s Manifesto for the Future of AI was produced and shared by a young person at the Paris AI Action Summit.

  • The logo of the project is shown with outstretched hands and written code with the words Advancing Data Justice: A collaboration between the Global Partnership on AI, the Alan Turing Institute, and individuals and communities across the globe

Advancing data justice research and practice

Produced actionable resources and a documentary series to help policymakers, practitioners, and impacted communities gain a broader understanding of what equitable, freedom-promoting, and rights-sustaining data collection, governance, and use should look like in increasingly dynamic and global data innovation ecosystems.

  • An image with a speech bubble contains the text Explaining decisions made with AI

    Project ExplAIn

Organised and delivered a series of workhops and citizens’ juries and developed practical case studies aimed at operationalising the co-produced Alan Turing Institute and Information Commissioner’s Office guidance, Explaining decisions made with AI.

  • Image of a young person with the words The Alan Turing Institute and case study

Understanding AI Ethics and Safety for Children

Led a research project as part of UNICEF’s Pilot Partner Programme to give public sector employees a better practical understanding of how to design responsible AI for children. This capacity-building effort aimed to formulate ethical considerations to support the development of AI policies that are non-discriminatory and inclusive of and for children.

Research in action.
